Maddy Ringo + Iona Fyfe

Join Toronto-born Michigan-based folk singer-songwriter Maddy Ringo and Scottish folksinger Iona Fyfe for a one-off special co-bill celebrating the art of songwriting and the continuum of the folk tradition. Two solo sets culminate with both artists collaborating to perform each others repertoire.

Maddy Ringo
Since picking up a career on the sidewalks of Toronto, multi-instrumentalist indie folk songwriter Maddy Ringo has become prominent emerging artist in the Southeast Michigan folk scene with her poignant songwriting. At just 20 years old, she brings a contemporary edge and a mellifluous, jazzy voice to a timeless musical tradition of cultural conversation. Her latest album People of the Earth and Sea explores vivid narratives of the complex internal world within an alienating post-industrial society, drawing on her experience as an artist raised in an urban environment. IG: @maddy_ringo FB: @officialmaddyringo YT: @maddyringo

Iona Fyfe

Aberdeenshire folksinger, Iona Fyfe, has become one of Scotland’s finest singers, rooted in the singing traditions of the North East of Scotland. A two-time winner of Scots Singer of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards, Iona became the first singer to win the coveted title of Musician of the Year in 2021. Iona performs both traditional and self-penned songs in the Scots language, remaining true to her rooting in tradition. Iona is a fierce advocate for the official recognition of the Scots Language, leading a successful campaign to pressure Spotify into recognising Scots and add it to its list of languages. IG: @iona.fyfe FB: @ionafyfe  X: @ionafyfe YT: @ionafyfe
