This November sees the release of the first single from the eclectic new contemporary folk group Beeeater, a quartet derived of members from the length and breadth of Scotland. Mercurial tastes and a sense of exploration have led the band to a rich, heady blend of sounds; listeners won’t find it hard to hear their love of psychedelia, ambient music, jazz, film scores, and much more. ‘All That I Carry’, which forms a part of Beeeater’s upcoming first EP ‘Head Like The Boiling Sea’, is a cinematic journey through snowy atmospheres, pine forests, contemplative headspaces, and the struggle to make the most of what we have here on Earth. It’s about finding your way with what you love the most, whether it is music, religion, nature, or whatever else keeps you grounded through the cyclic turmoil of life. Recorded in the nurturing space of Knockwood Studio (Leith, Edinburgh), this vulnerable record evokes the daunting beauty of being but one tiny drop in an endless ocean, and the lengths we will go to stay afloat.

Joining Beeeater are friends of the band NANI and Annie Booth.

NANI is an Austrian-born, Edinburgh-based indie artist who makes mood-dependent alt-pop/rock/folk tunes for people who could never be in charge of the aux at a party cause they’re way too indecisive. NANI has built a considerable catalogue of releases over the past few years and has been playing shows all over Scotland and beyond with her band. Most notably, she has performed at King Tut’s Summer Nights, The Great Eastern Festival, Liverpool Sound City, and supporting acts such as Art School Girlfriend, Katie Gregson-Macleod, and Coach Party. Both her 2020 release, the 6-track EP “Pure Frustration”, and her latest EP “Honey”, have been met with critical acclaim and received airplay on BBC Radio Scotland, Amazing Radio, and BBC 6 Music, with the track “Sunshine” being featured on BBC Introducing’s Hot List.

Annie Booth is a Scottish artist with a gift for mood-painting and storytelling. A modern folk singer, performer and songwriter – with a flair for the nostalgic and the melancholy – she wields a unique voice in Scotland, bridging genre and influence with ease. Longlisted for the 2022 Scottish Album of the Year Award with her album ‘Lazybody’.

Vincent Deighan has been working incredibly hard on the cover art for the EP, and it has become an awe-inspiring endeavor in it’s own right. Tasked with a sprawling, near-indecipherable commission, Vin blew all expectations out of the water with the results, and the band are deeply excited to reveal the work along with the music. Each quarter of the piece represents a track from the EP, and the first quarter will be released along with the single.
