Possession Records presents its first show for 2025!

SOFT RIOT

Our own experimental, mutant auteur synthpop artist here on Possession. Soft Riot is JJD, a Glasgow-based Canadian who has over the last number of years released six albums and has toured off to locations locations all over Europe and parts of North America. The latest album is No., released in August 2023. After taking a winter break after a busy 2024, it’s the first local show of the year where some new material will be played.

OBERST PANIZZA

Over from Berlin DE for his first performance in the UK, Oberst Panizza (Olivier) was a founding member and co-composer of 2010s Berlin-based darkwave groups Velvet Condom and Liste Noire. Now operating in solo, by programming synthesized melodies and robotic vocals, in the lineage of early electronic pop. After a couple of EPs, the debut album October Noir was released in 2020 on the popular European dark synth/post-punk label Young & Cold Records.

UBRE BLANCA

Glasgow’s instigators of “giallo disco” — Ubre Blanca — are back from the ether! After a long break from playing live, they’re back with a new line-up on the back of numerous releases in recent years, including their 2023 album Rhizome. With plans to start playing out live again in 2025, the group has graciously accepted the offer to play this show to get their live set warmed up for their return to the stage. Ubre Blanca started back in 2013, creating soundtracks for films which were never made and music from futures that never came to pass, releasing three critically acclaimed EPs heavily influenced by such synth and soundtrack pioneers as John Carpenter, Goblin, Tangerine Dream and Fabio Frizzi.
